For the festival’s fourth year, Diamond Wave hosted five distinct events across San Francisco & Oakland coinciding with Transgender Awareness Week. This year’s festival was all about reflecting a range of nonbinary creativity and expression and creating a simultaneously gender-free and gender-full container for gender expansive artists to imagine, play, dream, and connect! I interpreted this direction as an opportunity to visually represent the idea that there are many endless ways of being nonbinary.

Each event was curated and conceptualized by a different lead artist, so the design challenge was to create promotional materials that distinguished each event with its own direction, while also keeping them all visually united as part of the same festival. This, combined with the overall direction of this year’s festival, inspired the new title treatment.
